Rudbeckia hirta 'Indian Summer' is a bold, late-season flower with large golden petals and a dark central disk. It is a classic fall flower in the garden with a strong upright habit and long bloom time. Leave standing throughout winter to provide food for small birds. 

In the Marian garden tradition, this flower is associated with the New Jerusalem, the promised city of renewal described in the Book of Revelation. Like the New Jerusalem, Rudbeckia appears at the close of the season as a radiant and enduring sign of hope.
