Mary's Tears

Delphinium elatum, aka Candle Larkspur, boasts a dark blue/purple blooms on tall stems and makes for stunning cut flowers. While this perennial may have a shorter lifespan, its vibrant beauty is well worth planting.

The eyes of Mary surely shed many tears throughout her life. She shed tears of joy at Christ’s birth and she shed tears at the foot of the Cross. The stalks of blue flowers can remind us of the streams of tears running down her cheek.
