During the Middle Ages, this pastel colored Aster, was named the ‘Michaelmas Daisy’ to signal that the Holy Day of Obligation of Michaelmas, the feast day of St. Michael, was approaching.  This is a great flower to connect with our past and make our sacred gardens.
